On the 24th of March, a presentation ceremony for the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC) highest award – the For Merits medal - took place in Pavlodar. The medal was given to professor of philology, compositor, music scholar, and collector Naum Gershevich Shafer.

On the 30th of May, the RAS Oriental Studies Institute began its conference “Jews in Modern Russia: Crisis or Rebirth” (organized by the Department of Israel and Jewish Communities, Department Head – Dr. Tatyana Karasova) with the lecture of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC) Secretary General, Professor Michael Chlenov.

On the 19th of May, the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress General Council Chairman, Executive Vice President of the Congress of National Communities of Ukraine, member of the Ukrainian Helsinki Human Rights Union Josef Zisels gave a lecture titled “On the question of identities: problems of national, religious, and civilizational identity” as part of the Polit.ua public lecture project.

On the 18th of May, the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC) General Council Chairman Josef Zisels spoke in Simferopol at the All-Crimean Memorial Meeting, dedicated to the 67th year since the deportation of Crimean Tatars from the peninsula.

On the 17th of May, the legendary Moscow restaurant ''Yar'' held a reception in honor of the Vice Prime Minister of the State of Israel Eli Yishai.

The representative delegation of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC), headed by President Alexander Mashkevich, visited Israel to participate in the events timed to the 50th anniversary of EAJC Vice President, Head of the World Congress of Georgian Jews Gabriel Mirilashvili.
