                  On the 18th of May, the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC) General Council Chairman Josef Zisels spoke in Simferopol at the All-Crimean Memorial Meeting, dedicated to the 67th year since the deportation of Crimean Tatars from the peninsula.

                  The deportation of Crimean Tatars began on the morning of May 18th, 1944, and ended by the evening of the 20th of May. Over 200 thousand Criman Tatars were deported from the peninsula.
                   
                  Currently, a memorial day is annually helf on the 18th of May for the victims of the deportation of the Crimean Tatar people.
