On May 26-27, representatives of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC) led by the head of the EAJC PR Department Roman Spector took part in conducting Eilat Days in Moscow, which have been organized at the initiative of the Moscow Jewish National Cultural Autonomy and the Eilat City Hall.

On the 26th of May, the opening ceremony of Eilat Days in Moscow took place on the premises of the RAS Institute of Far Eastern Studies. The ceremony gathered representatives of the Moscow Jewish community, experts on Israel, businessmen and journalists. Guests were greeted by the JNCA Moscow Council Chairman Vladimir Shternfeld, who initiated holding days dedicated to the capital of the Israeli South in the capital of the Russian Federation, and Mayor of Eilat Yitzhak Ha-Levi. Among those who gave reports were: Vice Mayor of Eilat Oleg Chernomorts, Chairman of the Director's Council of the "Eilat-Moscow" company Nataly Averbuch, representatives of the tourist business, medical organizations, and investment trusts..
The reports raised questions on the development of Eilat, the professional absorption of new repatriates, the influence of the Russian-speaking community on the political, economic, and cultural life of the city.

The ceremony also included the signing of a protocol of intent to make Eilat and Ryazan twinned cities. After the opening, a number of working meetings and discussions took place.

On the 27th of May, the JNCA Moscow chairman's office hosted a press conference on the results of the first Eilat Days in Moscow, organized with the aid of the EAJC PR department. During the meeting, members of the Israeli delegation noted that Eilat today is more than just a tourist center and a health-resort center, but also a place where international cultural events take place at the highest level and a gate for a positive interaction between Israel and its Arabic neighbours.
The representatives of Eilat believe the obvious interest of Moscow business in different projects initiated by the city hall to be the main result of the meetings in Moscow. An Eilat-Moscow business forum is planned to take place within the nearest possible time to realize this interest.

As Roman Spector notes, "The EAJC has positive experience of working with the Eilat city hall, in connection with the World Championship of "What? Where? When?" This occasion allowed us to estabilish both professional and warm friendly contacts, which were then developed as part of the Eilat Days in Moscow. We truly hope that everything that we have thought up and planned as part of these events will come to be."
