On April 24, the New York YIVO Institute held a panel discussion titled “Jews and the Ukrainian Revolution.” Euro-Asian Jewish Congress General Council Chairman Josef Zisels and Professor of the Jewish Theological Seminary (New York) David Fishman. After the discussion, Josef Zisels answered many questions of the listeners.

Euro-Asian Jewish Congress Secretary General Michael Chlenov participated in the annual educational conference Limmud Moscow.

On April 20-22, a delegation of the American Jewish Committee (AJC), headed by Executive Director David Harris, visited Kyiv. The AJC delegation was received by VAAD Ukraine and the Kyiv office of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress, whose workers prepared and organized the meetings for the delegation.

Our dear friend, Yuliy Kosharovsky, has passed away. He was an ardent Zionist, an uncompromising fighter for the Jews’ freedom to repatriate to their historical homeland, a truly charismatic leader who made an inestimable contribution to recreating Jewish life in post-Soviet territory.

 

The Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC) with pain and sadness learned about the anti-Semitic attack in Overland Park (Kansas City, USA). According to human rights organizations, the killer, who shot three people in the territory of the Jewish community structures, was a long-term activist of the racist ''Ku Klux Klan.'' Special cynicism of this brutal crime is that it had been committed on the eve of the Jewish holiday of Pesach

On April 7-10, Almaty hosted the republican madric seminar, organized by the Jewish community of Kazakhstan, which is a member of the EAJC, and the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee. Over twenty young madrichim, future specialists in working with children in teenagers, took part in the seminar. They were from nine Kazakhstan cities.

On April 9, 2014, representatives of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress spoke on a number of events about the situation in Ukraine and the state of the Ukrainian Jewish community as part of their working visit to Berlin.

On April 1, 2014, a meeting of the EAJC Presidium dedicated to most important matters of current Congress financing and administration.
