Euro-Asian Jewish Congress Deputy Secretary General Haim Ben Yakov was decorated with the “Person of the Year” award of the World War II Veteran’s Union of Israel for “Merits in preserving the memory of the battle and heroism of Jews in the war against Fascism.”

On December 2, 2013, a working meeting took place in St. Petersburg between the Presidium of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress with a group of leaders of the aid fund for Jewish communities and inter-community projects in Eurasia.

A representative delegation of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress visited St. Petersburg to participate in the grand Chanukah celebration traditionally taking place at the Ice Palace. This good tradition was created and supported for over twenty years by important Jewish businessman and philanthropist Mikhail Mirilashvili, who is currently the First Vice President of the EAJC.

From December 8 to 10, 2013, the first Cinema Forum “Handshake” will take place in Moscow with the support of the Moscow government. The forum is dedicated to tolerance and inter-ethnic relations in modern society and has been tied to the 100th anniversary of the Righteous Gentile Nikolai Kiselev.
