The highest profile Jewish delegation ever to visit the African continent is in South Africa meeting with government leaders and local Jews.

The Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC) Secretary General, Professor Michael Chlenov took part in the 10th International Conference, which took place in the Interdisciplinary Center in Herzliya.
The Herzliya conference is a reputable international forum, the participants of which number representatives of the political, business, and intellectual elite of Israel, as well as leading foreign experts. The forum servers as a platform for expert discussion, exchange of ideas, and presentation of various initiatives. The invitation for “Project Kesher” to become a member of the Expert Council on questions of gender equality, organized by the Committee of the State Duma on questions of family, women, and children, becomes a testament of the high regard for the organization's activities.

The international women's organization “Project Kesher,” which is a part of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress, has ended its marathon of celebrations of the New Year For the Trees in different countries of the world.

The last week of January saw a sweeping celebration of the founding of the Jewish Congress of Kazakhstan (JCK) in Almaty. The Jewish Congress of Kazakhstan was one of the founders of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC), and the EAJC leader Alexander Mashkevich is also the ECK President. As part of the jubilee, the following events took place: the Conference of Leaders of Jewish Organizations of the Republic, and the traditional yearly Youth Forum, which collects the most interesting young community leaders from different cities of the country.

The Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, by assignment from the President and Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, is to implement an experimental new class in 19 regions from the 1st of April, 2010. This class, titled “Basics of religious cultures and secular ethics,” is aimed at the development of tolerance, the prevention of interethnic and interreligious conflicts in a multiconfessional educational environment. On the 20th of January, the EAJC Secretary General, Professor Michael Chlenov, gave a general lecture on the basics of Jewish culture to this class.

President of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC) Alexander Mashkevich met with the Most Holy Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Cyril during the latter's official visit to Kazakhstan. An agreement was reached for the practical participation of the EAJC leader in the completion of the construction and final decoration of the cathedral church.
