                  Project Kesher Becomes Part of RF Expert Council

                  The activity of the international organization of Jewish women, “Project Kesher,” was presented at the ongoing “round table” titled “Law as Conductor of Spiritual and Moral Values into the Life of Russian Society,” organized by the Committee of the Russian Federation State Duma on questions of family, women, and children, in cooperation with the Svyato-Tihonov Humanitarian University.
                  The panel “Ethical and Legal Aspects of the Demographical Policy of Russia: the Problem of Abortions,” which took place as part of the round table, numbered such participants as the Chairman of the Committee of the Russian Federation State Duma on questions of family, women, and children, Elena Menzulina, representatives of the Christian Orthodox, Muslim and Jewish clergy, members of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation. “Project Kesher” was represented by the leader of the program “Woman's Place in Society”, Marina Konstantinova, and the coordinator, Nadezhda Visnapu.
                  In her speech at the panel, M. Konstantinova spoke about the activity of “Project Kesher,” its aim to raise the role of the woman in society, to strengthen the physical and moral health of women.
                  The invitation for “Project Kesher” to become a member of the Expert Council on questions of gender equality, organized by the Committee of the State Duma on questions of family, women, and children, became a testament of the high regard for the organization's activities.
                  A working meeting took place the next day between M. Konstantinova and the head of the State Duma apparatus on questions of family, women, and children, I. Kovtunenko, and the principal advisor of the Committee apparatus, Z.M. Suslova. Venues of further cooperation were outlined during the meeting.
