The international women's organization “Project Kesher,” which is a part of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress, has ended its marathon of celebrations of the New Year For the Trees in different countries of the world.
For the third year in a row, the organization initiates Tu Bishvat Seders in women's and teenager's groups of different cities. According to the place of the organizators, the main task of the marathon is to help the participants “understand the sense of responsibility for the Earth on which we live, for the house in which we raise children, for the land of Israel.”
This year, the initiative was supported by more than 1200 women, who are a part of 7 women's groups of “Project Kesher,” from Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Georgia, Moldova, and Israel.
During the Seders, funds to plant 25 trees in Israel, with the aid of the Jewish National Fund, were raised.
