Students of master’s program in Jewish Studies in Ukraine graduated on June 28, 2014. Seven students of the National University “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy” (NaUKMA) graduated with a master’s diploma in history, specializing in Jewish Studies.

The Jewish Studies specialization is a part of the master’s program in History, and is the first such program in Ukraine. It was founded in 2012 by the National University "Kyiv-Mohyla Academy” together with the Association of Jewish Communities and Organizations of Ukraine (VAAD Ukraine) to promote the academic study of the Jewish heritage in Ukraine.

In the first year of its existence, the program was supported by the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC), and then in the EAJC and the Ukrainian Jewish Encounter (UJE) and its founder, James Temerty. In the last half year, the master’s program in Jewish Studies was supported by the EAJC Kyiv office, James Temerty, and the Holland Foundation.
