The local history museum of Taraz, Kazakhstan, has hosted the exhibition “10 Days in Israel.” The exhibition consists of works by the famous photographer from Kazakhstan, Maksim Zolotukhin. The exhibition was brought to the city my the Mitzvah Association of Jewish Communities and Organizations of Kazakhstan, Euro-Asian Jewish Congress Presidium member Alexander Baron.

The hall during the opening ceremony had been full of people. Elena Dmitriyeva, the director of the Taraz Chesed, gave an introductory speech for the guests of honor and the exhibition. Alexander Baron gave a short history of the works represented in his speech. These 70 photos, including photo essays, portraits, and landscapes, are a kind of “travel notes” for someone who is looking at the diversity that Israel today is full of. All of the photographs were made in 2012, during a visit of Kazakhstan bloggers that had been organized by the Israel Ministry of Tourism.

The exhibition was visited not only by the Jewish community but by many residents of the city. The visitors thanked Alexander Baron for organizing the exhibition, as few such events are held Taraz.
