The Euro-Asian Jewish Congress sent a letter of congratulations to Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Israel to the Russian Federation Dorit Golender in connection with the 66th anniversary of the Jewish state’s independence. The letter reads as follows:

 

“We wish the leaders of the Jewish state and all our brothers and sisters in Israel happiness and prosperity.

We clearly understand that the rise of Israel, its recognition, its victories in the fight for independence and achievements in many spheres inspired millions of Jews in the former Soviet Union and stimulated the growth of Jewish self-awareness, which then coalesced into the Independent Jewish Movement.

An aliyah that is over a million strong from the former Soviet Union transformed the Jewish state and is a testament to Israel becoming one of the most attractive countries for living in.

We are proud that the Diaspora is part of the colorful today of the contemporary Jewish state. We are certain that Israel will become a guiding star - not only for Jews but for all of humanity. We wish each Israeli family peace, safety, and happiness.”
