                  Representative of American Jewish Committee Visits Kyiv

                  On March 5, 2014, the American Jewish Committee’s Director of Russian Jewish Community Affairs, Sam Kliger, began his visit to Kyiv. The American Jewish Committee is a strategic partner of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC).

                  On March 5, Sam Kliger met with a large group of Ukrainian Jewish organization leaders on the premises of the EAJC Kyiv office. The leaders of the Ukrainian Jewish communities informed Mr. Kliger about the Ukrainian situation, with particular focus on the Jewish aspects of the recent events.

                  On March 6, a several working meetings were held by Sam Kliger and Josef Zisels, including a meeting with Ukrainian Vice Prime Minister Vladimir Groisman, the First Deputy of the Ukrainian “Udar” party, Vitaliy Kovalchuk, and the Chairman for the Parliamentary Committee on Human Rights and Interethnic Relations Valeriy Patskan.

                  On that same day, a working meeting was held with a non-affiliated parliamentary deputy David Zhvania. Igor Kerez, a member of the VAAD Ukraine Trustee Board and candidate for an EAJC Vice President post, was also present at the meeting.
