On January 12, 2014, the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress General Council Chairman, Chairman of the Association of Jewish Organizations and Communities (VAAD) Ukraine Josef Zisels had a meeting at the Knesset about the condition of the Jewish community of Ukraine against the backdrop of the Ukrainian political crisis of the last several months. Constantine (Yoel) Razvozov, Knesset Committee on Aliyah, Absorption and Diaspora Affairs Chairman, met with the VAAD Ukraine Chairman.

Josef Zisels gave a rundown on the entire situation in Ukraine, going into the status of the Jewish community in great detail. A special place in the discussion was reserved for the risks connected to attempts at using anti-Semitism as a device in the political confrontation.

Yoel Razvozov ascertained that the Knesset will not be approving any documents on the situation in Ukraine without first consulting the Jewish community.
