On Novemer 8-9, 2013, an international conference took place in Berlin titled “Anti-Semitism in Europe Today: Phenomenon and Conflicts.” Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC) General Council Chairman Josef Zisels, EAJC General Council members Anatoliy Podolsky and Vyacheslav Likhachev participated in the conference.

At the plenary session of the conference, Dr. Anatoliy Podolsky, the Director of the Ukrainian Center for Holocaust Studies made his report on the situation in Ukraine, and stressed that, unlike other European countries, Kyiv officials actively play “the national card” in different political and propaganda campaigns aimed at discrediting and dividing the opposition. The destructive role of provocative PR campaigns done by the government is, according to the unanimous belief of Ukrainian experts, is especially worrying in the run-up to the 2015 presidential elections.

The Euro-Asian Jewish Congress provided other guests of the conference with the annual reports on anti-Semitism in post-Soviet countries, edited by Vyacheslav Likhachev, as well as a special report on the ideology and activities of the ultra-nationalist Ukrainian political party “Svoboda.”
