                  04.10.2013

On October 3, 2013, the II Jewish Youth Forum began work in Kazakhstan. The Forum is dedicated to youth leadership, community building, and project management. 30 young leaders of Jewish communities from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan came to Almaty for a discussion of their vision of the modern Jewish community as well as to present new community projects.

The Forum is held by the Mitzvah Association of Jewish Communities of Kazakhstan with the support of the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee.
The right to participate was earned by the young leaders in an essay competition. The following topics were provided by the organizators: “Me and my community: my place and role,” “My community tomorrow: needs, ideas, plans,” “The Jewish community is where my dreams come true,” “Ten steps towards an ideal community,” “My super-project for community development.”

When opening the forum, the Chairman of the Mitzvah Association Council, Euro-Asian Jewish Congress Presidium Member Alexander Baron greeted the participants and wished them luck at the upcoming auction of community projects.

The program of the forum includes workshops, round tables, lectures, and educational visits to Jewish organizations. The main event of the forum is the auction of community projects, which will be visited by directors and other senior executives of large companies and charity organizations.

The main purpose of the forum is to create and develop a regional core group of young Jewish leaders in Central Asia, to actively involve young Jewish leaders in the activity of Jewish communities, to support the goals and tasks of the Jewish community through youth projects in the region, to provide new modern projects for communities, as well as to develop the creative and leadership potential of young leaders through their participation in local and international community projects.
