On July 9, a coordination meeting of the Diversity Initiative took place in Kyiv. The Diversity Initiative is an informal network on non-governmental organizations united by their joint tasks to counteract xenophobia and to form a climate of tolerance in society.

 

The event took place in the representative office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees in Belarus, Moldova, and Ukraine.

Information on hate crimes recorded by the monitoring since the beginning of 2013 was made public at the meeting. Discussion of fundraising strategies and the development of internet projects of the Diversity Initiative also took place.

The Jewish community was represented by EAJC General Council member, head of the Xenophobia Monitoring and Analysis Program Vyacheslav Likhachev.
