The leaders of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC) have sent a letter of congratulations to Lesley Weiss on her appointment as the chair of the Heritage Abroad Commission.

The congratulatory letter reads: “We would like to congratulate from the bottom of our hearts our dear friend and colleague Lesley Weiss on this eminent appointment. We are certain that her experience in the NCSJ will give the Heritage Abroad Commission a new impulse of energy. As for our part, as before, Lesley Weiss can count on our time-proven partnership.”

Veterans of the Independent Jewish Movement of the former USSR signed the letter: EAJC Secretary General Michael Chlenov, EAJC General Council Chairman Josef Zisels, EAJC PR Department Head Roman Spector, and EAJC Executive Director Natalia Schmidt.

Many of the members of the Heritage Abroad Commission come from Jewish organizations around the world, as most of its work is aimed at preserving Jewish cultural sites, cemeteries that were left unattended as a result of the Holocaust, in particular.

Lesley Weiss continues her work in the NCSJ, where she serves as a key link between the Jewish community of the USA and Jewish organizations of the former Soviet Union.
