The tiny Jewish community of Burma, an EAJC member community, has gathered over 120 guests for the ceremony of the Chanukah lighting of the candles in Yangon, the capital of Burma.

Among those who participated in the ceremony were: Hagai Moshe Behar, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Israel to Burma, Deputy Minister on Religious Affairs, Vice-President of the National League for Democracy, Chairman of the Touristic Association of Burma, U Soe Win, representatives of the diplomatic corps and the EU mission, religious leaders of the Christian, Buddhist, Ba'hai and Hindu communities.

“This was a wonderful event, and a real Chaunkah miracle for us,” stressed the head of the Burma Jewish community, EAJC General Council member Moses Samuels.
