The Secretary General of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress, Vice President of the Federal Jewish National Cultural Autonomy Michael Chlenov has taken part in a round table titled “On counteracting falsification attempts in the history of peoples to the injury of Russian interest.” The round table was organized by the Federation Council Committee on the Federal Form of Government, Regional Policy, Local Government and Northern Matters.

The main report was made by Director of the RAS General History Institute, academician Alexander Chubaryan, who noted the main stress points in the relationships of Russia with Ukraine, Poland, and the Baltic countries.

EAJC Secretary General Michael Chlenov noted, “Unfortunately, neither the report nor the main discussion found an opportunity to discuss the falsification of the role that the Jewish people played in the history of Russia, possible because the Russian Academy of Sciences and its historic institutes do not study this topic. But that host of negative historic stereotypes needs to be studied and debunked. The Jewish community could possibly fill the current lack of research on this subject with the aid of its existing and active structures. The participation of Jewish organizations in the development of this aspect of the topic at hand seems to be absolutely beneficent.”
