                  EAJC Secretary General Visits China

                  The Secretary General of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress has taken part in a visit to China, organized by the Russian Jewish Congress (RJC).

                  During the visit, the delegation of the Russian Jewish community visited Jewish Studies centers in Shanghai and Harbin, which are state-supported. Meetings were held with the Director of and Professor of the Center of Jewish Studies Shanghai (CJSS) Pan Guang and the President of the Heilongjiang Academy of Social Science, Professor Qu Wei, who oversees the work of the Harbin researchers of Jewish presence in China.

                  A number of meetings took place in Pekin, including a meeting with the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the People’s Republic of China Sergei Razov and the Ambassador of the State of Israel Matan Vilnai.
                   
                  The delegation visited a number of historic locations connected with the presence of Jews in China and learned about the work of several Jewish community centers.
