Representatives of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC) have taken part in the meeting of the Presidium of the Diaspora Union of Russia (CDR), which was dedicated to the end of the first part of an ethnographic expedition led by the leader of indigenous and small-numbered peoples of Khabarovsky Territory, RANS member, Professor Evdokoya Gaer.

Leading Russian ethnographers, supported by Governor Vyacheslav Shport, visited national villages of the Nikolayevsk, Ulchsk, Komsomolsk, Amursky, Nanaisky and Khabarovsky regions. The scholars' main goal was to analyze the current ethno-demographic structure of the areas of compact settlement of the Amur river region's indigenous peoples, as well as the demographic processes and interethnic relationships in the area.

The Diaspora Union of Russia Presidium reached a decision, according to which the important factual material accumulated by the expedition will become a foundation for several addresses to the Russian government, made at different levels. The addresses will aim to improve different aspects of the life of small-numbered indigenous peoples, in particular – to improve their social security, to aid them in the workplace, and to consider matters of traditional use of natural resources.
