On September 27, representatives of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC) have taken part in an event dedicated to the 5th anniversary of the Diversity Initiative, sharing their experience in propagating tolerance and counteracting xenophobia.

Elena Pochayevets and Andrei Knizhniy spoke about the methods of fostering tolerance in school, paying special attention to which methods are truly effective within school, and which are effective as part of informal education.

EAJC General Council member Vyacheslav Likhachev made a report on the methodology of collecting and confirming information as part of a monitoring of hate crime and presented the statistic collected by the Congress over years of work.

The Diversity Initiative is a coalition of international and national NGOs, created in Ukraine in 2007 at the initiative of Amnesty International in Ukraine, the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Refugees, and the International Organization for Migration. The fifth anniversary of the initiative was celebrated by a one day seminar, the DiversityCamp, during which representatives of interested organizations and experts shared their work experience and discussed strategies of countering xenophobia.
