                  8th International Festival FREILEHE KINDER to Take Place in Karaganda

                  The Mitzvah Association of Jewish Community Organizations of Kazakhstan (President - EAJC General Council member Alexander Baron) reports that the Eighth Central Asian International Festival of Jewish Children's and Youth Creativity will be held in the city of Karaganda, Kazakhstan, from June 29 to July 2.
                   
                  The FREILEHE KINDER festival camp has been being held since 2005, and was conceived as a first step towards the creation of a long-term educational problem that could help develop an interest in the new generation of the Jewish community towards its own history and culture. It is held for theatre, musical, and choreographic troupes and performers from Jewish communities and organizations of the Central Asian region. The festival aims to develop leadership and Jewish are in children and youths. The working titles of the upcoming festival is “Forward to the past. Four days in a shtetl.” A number of preparatory events will be held for this historic focus, additional lectures to teach more on different part of Jewish culture, and, accordingly, the history of the Jewish people as a whole.
