                  25.04.2012

                  On April 25, a memorandum of cooperation was signed in Tbilisi between the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC; in the person of its General Council Chairman Josef Zisels), the Jewish Cultural and Education Foundation (Georgia; in the person of the Director of the Foundation, EAJC General Council member Elena Berkovich), and the Georgian Ministry of Science and Education in the person of Deputy Minister Iryna Kurdadze. The memorandum was concerned with the joint implementation on the EAJC Fostering Tolerance program, the aim of which is to raise the young generation in the spirit of inter-ethnic and interfaith tolerance.

                  The implementation of the stated goal will be attained through holding the following events:

                  • holding systematic awareness-raising and educational seminars for school teachers;
                  • holding competitions among school students;
                  • hosting youth conferences;
                  • publishing activity.

                  Georgia's Ministry of Science and Education is creating a professional structure, the Teacher Professional Development Center (Director – Giyah Mamulashvili), which will be a partner of the EAJC in implementing and realizing the “Tolerance – Lessons of the Holocaust” program in Georgia.
