                  21.03.2012

On March 9–11, 2012, a seminar for counselors of the International Children's Camp Roots of Tolerance took place in Kyiv. The camp has been held for ten years now by the Council of National Communities of Ukraine (CNCU, Executive Vice President – EAJC General Council Chairman Josef Zisels; Executive Director – Anna Lenchovskaya). 50 members of the Roots of Tolerance project from Ukraine and Moldova participated in the seminar. Significant attention was attributed to developing new methods for work in the camp, as well as to formulating the goals and aims of the camp to be held in 2012.

Among the most notable lectures for the participants of the seminar were the traditional morning talk with Josef Zisels on responsibility, and the lecture of the editor-in-chief of the Forum of Nations newspaper (official CNCU newspaper) Tatyana Horunzhaya, titled “How to Recognize Hate Speech in the Media.” Alexander Voitenko held training sessions on working with video materials, using the FreeToChoose methodology and video testaments on historic memory. The exhibition 'Together' was also presented at the seminar, and participants were able to work with materials from this exhibition. All seminars were held under the leadership of Alexander Voitenko, Anna Lenchovskaya, and Kira Kreiderman.
