The Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC) gives heartfelt salutation to Milih Elhanovich Yevdayev with his election to the post of leader for the religious community of Mountain Jews of Baku. Earlier he was an aide to the community chairman.

Milih Yevdayev was elected during a meeting of the General Board of the community, which took place the day before. The EAJC wishes success and many achievements to the newly-elected leader of the Mountain Jews. The Congress had a long-standing friendship and years of joint work with his predecessor, Semen Yihiilov, and the Congress joins the chorus of thankful voices, which sounded at the General Board meeting, for Yihiilov's long and fruitful labor on behalf of all the Jews of Azerbaijan.

Both Azerbaijan Jewish communities – the Ashkenazi community and the Mountain Jew community – are represented in the EAJC. Their leaders are members of the Congress General Council.
