Euro-Asian Jewish Congress Secretary General, Professor Michael Chlenov represented the EAJC at the XII Herzliyah Conference, one of the most important international political studies forums that is held annualy. This year, the participants of the conference included: UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon , President of the State of Israel Shimon Peres, Israel Minister of Defense Yehud Barak, President of the World Bank Robert Zoellic, Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs John Baird, and leading experts from many countries, including Qatar, Jordan, and the Palestinian Autonomy. From Russia, the forum included RF State Duma Deputy Vyacheslav Nikonov.

During his stay in Israel, Michael Chlenov visited the new RF Ambassador to the State of Israel, Sergei Yakovlev. During the meeting they exchanged opinions on the future of the Israeli-Palestine negotiations, the "Arabic Spring," and especially on the situation in Syria.

Michael Chlenov participated in the Assemby of the Jewish National Foundation Keren Kayemeth leIsrael, which was part of the conference. The EAJC has a long and fruitful relationship with this Foundation. The meeting was with the Chairman of the "Keren Kayemeth" Board Ephraim Stentzler and a memer of the board from the Yisrael Beitenu party Victor Dubin.

On the sidelines, the EAJC Secretary General held a working meeting with the representatives of the leadership of one of the EAJC's long-term strategic partners - the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewush Organizations. The meeting was with Conference President Richard B. Stone and Executive Vice-President Malcolm I. Hoenlien. Chlenov also met with the President of the Herzliyah Conference Daniel Rotschild and its Director, Miki Altar. Several agreements were reached on developing the cooperation between the Herzliyah forum and the EAJC, in particular, on new projects involving a more active involvement of Russian experts to the problems discussed at the Conference.

As EAJC Secretary Professor Michael Chlenov noted, "The Conference was rather interesting and representative. I would also like to especially note the steady presence of Russian groups of experts at the Forum, which stressses both the importance of the questions discussed for Russian foreign policy and the importance of Russia's participation in the discussion of burning affairs in the Near East. I hope that their participation will bring mutual experience and be of use to both Israel and Russia."
