On January 31, a meeting took place in Ekaterinburg between the Plenipotentiary Envoy of the President of the Russian Federation in the Ural Federal District Evgeniy Kuyvashev and the leaders of national-cultural unions of Sverdlovskaya oblast.

EAJC General Council member, President of the Jewish National Cultural Autonomy of Sverdlovsk Oblast Mikhail Ostrach took part in the metting.

Mikhail Ostrach spoke on two topics: "Counteracting extremism and xenophobia and forming tolerant relationships in Sverdlovsk oblast" and "On the legal status of non-governmental and non-profit organizations."

Evegeniy Kuybashev promised to deal with a number of problems and to convey the results to the leaders of national-cultural unions.
