During its visit to Israel, the delegation of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress took part in celebrating the 70th anniversary of a veteran of the Jewish underground, famous refusenik, and community activist, a pioneer of the organized repatriate movement from the countries of the former USSR Yuli Kosharovski. The preparation for publication of the fourth and final volume of Yuli Kosharovski's memoirs titled “We Were Jews” was timed to the celebration in Beit-Aryeh.

Yuli Kosharovski was awarded the highest EAJC award – the “For Merits” medal – for his significant contribution to the restoration of Jewish community and cultural life, as well as for his active aid in the absorption of new repatriates. The award and corresponding diploma were presented by EAJC Secretary General Michael Chlenov and General Council Chairman Josef Zisels.
Members of the delegation and Yuli Kosharovski planted a tree in Beit-Aryeh, as a symbol of the unity of former Soviet Jews that now live in Israel and the in the Diaspora.
