                  Main Candidate for EAJC President Found

                  The cofounders of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress, the Jewish Congress of Kazakhstan (headed by Alexander Mashekvich), Federation of Jewish Organizations and Communities of Russia (Vaad of Russia, headed by Michael Chlenov), and the Association of Jewish Organizations and Communities of Ukraine (Vaad of Ukraine, headed by Josef Zissels) have finished their interviews with potential candidates for the EAJC Presidency. The leaders of the abovementioned organizations have univocally decided on the candidacy of Vadim Shulman, who will be recommended for Presidenct at the nearest EAJC General Council session.

                  In concurrence with Vadim Shulman, the EAJC leaders plan to hold an EAJC General Council session in the second half of November in Israel, during which Acting President Alexander Mashkevich will resign, Vadim Shulman will be introduced, and Shulman will be confirmed as EAJC Acting President. According to the EAJC Statute, the final elections and confirmation for the new President will take place at an extraordinary session of the EAJC General Assembly in the second quarter of 2012.

                  Acting President Alexander Mashkevich decided to leave his post at the end of June, 2011, in connection with busyness in other community projects and his decision to develop his personal business.

                  Vadim Maratovich (Jewish name - Natan) Shulman was born in 1960.

                  He graduated from the Krivyi Rig Ore Mining Institute in Ukraine, with a degree in civil engineer of underground constructions, and worker in a mine for 10 years.

                  In 1991 he started doing business in the ore mining, chemical, and power industry, as well as telecommunications. He has been heading the Ukrainian Tennis Federation since 2006.

                  Vadim Shulman does a lot of charity work, supports Jewish community life in Ukraine, and helps Israel. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Dnipropetrovsk Jewish Regional Jewish Community, and is one of the main sponsors of the Krivyi Rig Jewish Community.

                  Shulman participated in financing the Brodsky Synagogue of Kyiv (the Central Synagogue). He built a school and dormitory for children from the former USSR in Jerusalem, as well financed the construction of a Jewish retirement home. He entirely financed the construction of a beautiful new synagogue in Kryviy Rig, "Beith Shtern Shulman." He also initiated and sponsored the filming of a multi-episode documentary "The Third World War Has Begun" on international terrorism.
                  Vadim Shulman is married, and has three children.
