                  EAJC to Support Community Life of Bukharian Jews

                  On the 24th of April, the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC) General Council Chairman Josef Zisels held negotiations with the leadership of one of the Bukharian Jews communities in Brooklyn (USA). The leaders discussed the problem of the absence of rabbis and shochets in communities of Bukharian Jewish in such Tajikistan and Uzbekistan cities and Tashkent, Samarkand, Buchara and Dushanbe. Josef Zisels professed the willingness to help Bukharian Jews with this problem on EAJC behalf.

                  On the 1st of May, the Buchara cultural center in Queens (New York, USA) helf a meeting between the EAJC General Council Chairman Josef Zisels and the President of the Congress of Bukharian Jews of the USA and Canada Boris Kandov. Josef Zisels explained to Boris Kandov the gist of the EAJC proposal of a project to support the religious community life in the Bukharan Jewish region through sending young rabbis from Israel to the region.
