As part of a working visit to Israel, the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC) Secretary General, Professor Michael Chlenov met with the Director of the 1st Eurasian Department of the Israel MFA Yaakov Livne. During the meeting they discussed the Near East situation, and the current problems of Israel's relationships with Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, and Moldova.

During the meeting, Yaakov Livne said that Israel is awaiting the visit of Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, and expects this visit to aid in the development of a constructive relationship between Russia and Israel. At the end of the visit Yaakov Livne underscored the intention to keep furthering the cooperation between his department and the EAJC as the leading union of Jewish communities of countries of the Euro-Asian region.
