EAJC President Meet With Kyrgyzstan Leadership

                  28.02.2011

The Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC) President Alexander Mashkevich has made a working visit to Kyrgyzstan. In Bishkek  Machkevitch met with President Rosa Otunbayeva, Prime Minister Almazbek Atambayev, and the Head of Parliament Ahmadbek Keldibekov. They discussed a variety of business and human issues related to the objectives of sustainable development in economic and social spheres.

During his visit, the EAJC President also discussed the situation of the Jewish minority and the challenges it faces with the leadership of the Jewish community.

“Communicating with the republic's leadership assures that Kyrgyzstan is firmly embarked towards democratic reforms. Thus, I am ready to assist in these efforts by implementing business projects and initiatives of a humanitarian nature in this country. As a Jewish leader, I consider such activities as the development of a multifaceted dialogue between peoples and cultures, to be  a contribution to the strengthening of tolerance — and this is an EAJC priority,” Mashkevich said to reporters after the visit.
