                  Association of Jewish Museums of Europe Holds Annual Conference in Rome

                  On the 20–23 of November, the annual conference of the Association of Jewish Museums of Europe took place in Rome. The Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC) and Ukraine were represented by the Chairman of the EAJC General Council Josef Zissels, and the ex-director of the EAJC-sponsored Museum of Jewish History and Culture of Bukovina (Chernovtsy, Ukraine) Natalia Schevchenko. The Museum was created in 2008, as the pilot project of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress, which is planning to create a number of museums dedicated to the unique cultural and historical characteristics of local Jewish groups, such as the Jewry of Bukovina, Galitsiya, Podolia, Novorossia.
                  Natalia Schevchenko presented the museum in Rome. On the 22nd of November, in a ceremony that took place at the Palazzo Valentini, housing the provincial and prefectural administration of Rome, Josef Zissels and Natalia Schevchenko received medals to commemorate their contribution to Jewish culture.
                  The next conference of the Association will take place in November, 2011, in London.
