On the 24th of October, the Chairman of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC) General Council Josef Zissels held a number of meetings and negotiations in Jerusalem as part of his Israel working visit.
In particular, Josef Zissels met with the Director General of the World Jewish Restitution Organization, Ambassador David Peleg, and discussed the ongoing situation concerning restitution of community property in Ukraine, Belarus, and Moldova, as well as possibilities to continue joint activities in describing these objects. The passportization of objects that might be subject to restitution by European standards, as well as working out a common position between former Soviet Union Jewish community organizations on the subject of restitution, has been an important direction of EAJC activity for many years.
That same day, Josef Zissels met with the Minister of Information and Diaspora Yuli-Yoel Edelstein, and discussed the possibilities and perspectives of EAJC participation in Ministry projects in Diaspora countries.
Josef Zissels also participated in the meeting of the FSU Comittee, which was part of the Board of Trustees session of the Jewish Agency For Israel. This session continues today, ob October 25.
