The Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC) President Alexander Mashkevich has participated in the opening ceremony of the "Beis Shtern Shulman" Synagogue in Kryvyi Rih, Ukraine, which took place on the 29th of August, 2010.
The building of the new choral synagogue has been built thanks to the efforts and financial support of the Kryvyi Rih Jewish community patron Vadim Shulman.
Alexander Mashkevich brought a Torah scroll, a gift from the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress, into the synagogue during the opening festivities. As the EAJC leader notes, "The Torah is the synbol of our people, and we strive to every Jewish community having a Torah scroll. We revere the commandment to study the Torah, and attempt to give Jews all around the world the opportunity to fulfill this commandment."
