Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC) President Alecander Mashkevich has taken part in the OSCE High Level Conference on Tolerance and Non-Discrimination that has opened in the northern capital of Kazakhstan, Astana, on June 29, 2010. This influential forum has gathered heads of government agencies and Partners dealing with promotion of ethnic and religious tolerance from 56 OSCE countries. The goal of the Conference is to assist the fulfillment of OSCE obligations.

Before the opening of the conference there was a welcoming reception for its participants on behalf of EAJC President Alexander Mashkevich and the personal representative of the Acting OSCE Chairman on Combating Anti-Semitism Andrew Baker.

In his speech before the gathering Alexander Mashkevich noted, “It is not a coincidence that this high meeting is taking place in Kazakhstan, which has immense positive experience in promoting tolerance. It is natural that the EAJC is a partner here today, as interfaith dialogue is one of our long-term strategic objectives. The successes and strategic treaties which we have achieved in our relationship with Orthodox Christianity and Islam prove that this work has potential.”.
