The Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC), together with the American Joint Jewish Distribution Committee (JDC), and the Jewish Welfate Fund (JWF) Hesed Nachalat Avot Azriel, conducted a celebratory ceremony for the 65th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The main goal of the organizators was to pay tribute to the veterans, and to revere the memory of those who lost their lives in the war.
The ceremony took place on the premises of the Kiev office of the JWF, and involved the presentation of Euro-Asian Jewish Congress memorial gifts and medals to veterans.
The central event of the celebration was the planting of the Tree of Peace. The celebration concluded with a formal dinner.
Among the participants were: veterans of the Great Patriotic War, representatives of the authorities, members of foreign embassies, and representatives of non-profit organizations.
