                  Josef Zisels Speaks at Minsk Conference

                  Euro-Asian Jewish Congress General Council chairman Josef Zisels spoke in Minsk at the international interconfessional conference "Christian-Jewish dialogue: religious values as the basis for respect in the civil society amid the global economic crisis."

                  The conference, which began its work on the 9th of November, was organized by the Institute of Religious Dialogue and Interconfessional Communications at Synod of the Belarusian Orthodox Church, the International Public Association “ St. Cyril and Methodius Christian Educational Center,” the Papal Council for Promotion of Christian Unity, the Apostolic Nunciate in Belarus, the OSCE office in Minsk, the embassy of Israel in Belarus, the Judaic Religious Association in Belarus, and the Konrad-Adenauer Foundation (Germany). Among the participants of the conference were: Metropolitan Philaret of Minsk and Slutsk, Cardinal Walter Kasper, Archbishop Tadeush Kondrusevich, head Ashkenazi rabbi of Israel Jonas Metzger, Chaiman of the Moslem Religious Association in the Republic of Belarus mufti Shabanovich Abu-Bekir, and the chief rabbi of the Judaic Religious Association in Belarus Abharam Benenson

                   

                  In his speech, Josef Zisels shed light on certain aspects of fostering interconfessional and interethnic tolerance in EAJC programs.
