During his official visit to Kazakhstan, the Foreign Affairs Minister of Israel, Avigdor Lieberman, held a series of working meetings with the President of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC) Alexander Mashkevich.

At the meetings, they discussed possible forms of cooperation between Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the EAJC in the development of relations between the Jewish state and the Diaspora.

In particular, the necessity for using EAJC resources in the countries within its range of operation to explain Israel's position on various current issues, including the regulation of Middle Eastern conflicts, the Iranian nuclear issue, and counter terrorism, was discussed at length.

According to the joint opinion of the head of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the EAJC leader, the information that is available in these countries through official sources is not always clear and objective, although these sources do not display a thought-out anti-Israeli position.

The EAJC President organized a meeting between Avigdor Lieberman and the Jewish community of Kazakhstan, and held a reception in his honor.
