                  Visit of the President of Israel to Azerbaijan

                  On the 28-29 of June, the delegation of Israeli politicians and businessmen headed by the President of Israel and laureate of the Nobel Peace Prize visited Azerbaijan. The delegation consisted of 3 ministers and 50 businessmen.
                  On the 28th of June, in the presidential residence "Zagulba," Shimon Peres discussed a wide range of questions with his Azerbajiani colleague Ilham Aliyev, which primarily concerned political and economic cooperation of the two countries.
                  On the 29th of June, in the synagogue of Baku, Shimon Peres met with the representatives of the Jewish community of Azerbaijan. Among those who took part in the meeting were: member of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress General Council, leader of the Ashkenazi community of Azerbaijan, chairman of the Baku religious community of European Jews Gennadiy Zelmanovich; head of the communities of Mountain Jews of Azerbaijan Semen Yehiilov, head of the Mountain Jew community of the Red (Jewish) Sloboda Boris Semanduyev, and others.
                  The experts rated the result of the delegation's visit highly, and called it "history-making."
