                  Pan-Ukrainian Competition of Student Research and Creative Works "History and Lessons of the Holocaust" to Commence In Kyiv with EAJC Support

                  On the 17-19th of May, 2009, the Ukrainian Center for Research on the History of the Holocaust (director – member of the EAJC General Council, Dr. Anatoly Podolsky), is to hold the yearly 9th Pan-Ukrainian Competition of Student Research and Creative Works “History and Lessons of the Holocaust”, with the support of the EAJC. Thanks to EAJC support, students from Moldova, Belarus, and Russia will take part in the competition. Thus, the competition will involve the best children's scientific works from four FSU countries. The competition will have around 50 works of senior students from secondary schools of various Ukrainian regions. These works have passed the first, screening level of the competition. Over 80 works were sent to the Ukrainian Center for Research on the History of the Holocaust this year. Among the reviewers and the jury there will be famous historians and educators. The topics of the students work touch upon various aspects of the fate of the Jews of Europe in the period of Fascism and World War II.
