                  Telegram from the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress leadership to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon

                  Dear Secretary-General!
                  The leadership of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC), which unites the Jewish communities of a national level from 25 countries of Eastern Europe, the CIS, and the Asian and Pacific Region, would like to express sincere gratitude and respect for your bright and constructive stand, which was a matter of principle, and which you took during the work of the International UN Conference Against Racism.
                  We are in absolute agreement with the words of your introductory speech at the meeting of the International Conference in Geneva, and support your call to arms against all manifestations of racism – from anti-Semitism to Islamophobia.
                  Following you, we categorically condemn the speech of the President of Iran Mahmud Ahmadinedzhad, which contained sharp statements against the State of Israel and its peaceful civilians, and think that absolutely all forms of genocide, oppression, enmity, and hate according to nationality have no right to exist.
                  After our meeting in January, which gave a positive impulse to our humanitarian activity, we confirm once more our readiness to work with you and the United Nations you head, against all forms and manifestations of racism, xenophobia, and anti-Semitism in the contemporary world.
                  Yours truly,
                  Alexander Mashkevich,
                  President of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress;
                  Michael Chlenov,
                  Secretary General of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress;
                  Joseph Zisels,
                  Chairman of the General Council of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress
