Presentation of the "The Word of Torah" Book by Rabbi Pinchas Goldshmidt

On December 25, in the Moscow Choral Synagogue refectory the presentation of the book "Word of Torah" took place. The book is a commentary on the Torah by the Chief Rabbi of Moscow, Secretary General of the Rabbinical Council of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC) Pinchas Goldschmidt.
"The word of Torah" book represents the author's original view of modern life from the viewpoint of the ancient Jewish religion, evaluations of events and phenomena, all based on a profound knowledge of the Torah, a philosophical world view, vivid examples and metaphors, humor, distinctiveness and coherent discourse.
The Chief Rabbi of Russia, Deputy Chairman of the EAJC Rabbinic Council Adolf Shaevich, deputy chief editor of "The New Times" magazine Yevgeniya Albats and other guests gave speeches at the presentation of Rabbi Pinchas Goldschmidt's book. All the speakers agree that the book fills a historical gap in the Holy Book interpretations in Russian, which was caused by the historical and political circumstances of XX century Russia. The presentation began with lightning the appropriate1 candle for the occasion of Chanukah. The event was accompanied2 by a synagogue choir led by Leonid Bar.
On the instructions of EAJC President Alexander Mashkevich, the author of the book, Chief Rabbi of Moscow Pinchas Goldschmidt, was awarded with an honorary EAJC medal for his outstanding contribution to the development of Jewish community life.
