"Euro-Asian Jewish Congress on the prospects of Russian-Georgian relationships" Press Conference / EAJC Participation.

The EAJC General Council member, the Jewish National and Cultural Autonomy of the Sverdlovsk region Mikhail Oshtrakh attend the press-conference "Euro-Asian Jewish Congress on the prospects of Russian-Georgian relationships" which held on February 20, 2008 in the regional information center "TASS-Ural".
The press-conference was dedicated to the results of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC) General Council session with patricians of the delegation of the leading Jewish organizations of the USA and Canada in Tbilisi on February 13-17.
The press-conference participants also discussed issues of the Kosovo self-proclaimed independence and the conflict settling in Georgia, Southern Ossetia and Abkhazia. Oshtrakh stressed that the lust for independence mustn't win over the common sense. Georgia, as Russia, didn't recognize Kosovo's independence believing that separatism was unacceptable.
One of the most controversial questions, discussed during the Tbilisi session, added Oshtrakh, was Georgian integration with NATO. Speaking on the EAJC General Council session President of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili expressed his hopes that the relationship between Russia and Georgia will be improved in the nearest future.
