                  04.11.2007

Delegacio'n de Asociaciones Israelitas Argentinas (DAIA) President
                  Aldo Donzis,
Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Russia to Argentina
                  Yuri Korchagin

On behalf of Russian Jewry I would like to express the deep gratitude for organizing the memorial actions in Argentina, dedicated to Holocaust victims.
In the beginning of the XX century the Russian Jewry played an essential role in forming the Argentinean Jewish Diaspora. Thousands and thousands of those immigrants and their descendants are full of pain still, because they lost the closers in the Shoah, during the Nazi invasion to the Soviet Union.
Today not only to Jewry, but to all people of good will as well, it is necessary strengthen the unity to combat so-called New Anti-Semitism, including the forces, aspiring to destroy the state and people of Israel.
Together we should demonstrate to the international public the danger of Islamist extremism, which plans are developing on the global level.
I am convinced the Embassy of Russia to Argentina participation in the Holocaust memorial actions testifies Russian government position to prevent the Hitler modern successors implementing new monstrous plans for a world scene.
Moreover, I hope such co-operation will serve renewal and strengthening of historically rooted ties, which shaping Argentinean and Russian Jewish Diasporas brotherly communities.
                  Sincerely yours,
                  Michael Chlenov,
President of Vaad of Russia - Federation of Jewish Organizations and Communities,
President of Federal Jewish Ethnic-Cultural Autonomy of Russia,
Secretary General of Euro-Asian Jewish Congress
