The VAAD of Ukraine expresses solidarity with Israeli people in their struggle against terrorism. Murders of civilians and capture of Israeli soldier by Hezbollah's militants, bombardment of Israeli cities from Lebanon indicates aggression and deserve proper response.
Terrorism is a global threat, and a victory over it is necessary for all the humankind as a victory over a hatred and interethnic conflicts. The world which has recognized tolerance as a basic principle of the world community's existence should protect Israel's aspiration to bring peace and safety to the world. Elimination of threat in one region will make life on the Earth more safe. Therefore success of this military antiterrorist operation is important not only for the Jews, but for all people also.
Terrorism is a global problem, and common efforts of civilized world is the only possible way to overcome it.
Terrorist organization Hezbollah should be outlawed by governments of all democratic states, and Ukraine should be among them.
The VAAD of Ukraine addresses the President, Parliament, representatives of Ukrainian political forces with an appeal to condemn aggression against Israel and work-out official position, which would testify understanding of the necessity to struggle against displays of terror and terrorism, not recognizing right of the Jewish state to exist by Ukrainian political elites.
Today support to Israel in its aspiration to bring peace and safety to the world is more important than ever. Jews - citizens of Ukraine have the right to expect such support and understanding of Israeli citizens and policy of the Jewish state.
