Participants of this major meeting of affluent Jewish philanthropists discussed current problems of Israel, issues of the peaceful process in the Middle East, anti-Semitism and were informed of the latest changes in the leadership of the organization.
The Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC) delegation headed by EAJC President Alexander Machkevitch who was elected Keren Hayesod President in CIS countries during the International Forum of Jewish Leadership Reunion in Las-Vegas, NV took active part in the Conference.
EAJC delegation was also represented by EAJC Executive Vice-President Fedor Ossinin, EAJC Secretary General Michael Chlenov, and EAJC General Council Chairman Joseph Zissels who discussed ways of possible cooperation with foreign colleagues.
The Conference agenda included a special event when A. Machkevitch was awarded an honorary bas-relief designed to commemorate his deeds in favor of the Jewish people. The bas-relief has a symbolic key of Jerusalem installed in it to signify the openness of the country of Israel for any Jew.
During the Conference the EAJC delegation met with leaders of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations. In his talk with Conference President Harold Tanner and Vice-Chairman Malcolm Hoenlein A. Machkevitch discussed a number of practical programs, which continue the partnership of the two organizations aimed at promoting dialog between civilizations, religions and cultures.
