                  12TH ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON JUDAICS / EAJC SUPPORT

                  Moscow, Russia, February 1-3, 2005

                  The 12th Annual International Conference on Judaics was held in Moscow on February 1-3, 2005.
                  International Center for Scientists and University Teachers of Judaics «Sefer» headed by its leaders Rashid Kaplanov and Ms. Victoria Mochalova organized the Conference.
                  Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC) again rendered its support to this international scientific forum on the stages of organization and realization. The «Sefer» Center is part of the EAJC.
                  The Conference gathered dozens of participants and specialists from the CIS, European Union, USA, Israel, etc., to discuss such relevant issues as The Bible Research, Maimonides and His Heritage, Judaic-Christian Relations, Issues of Xenophobia, History of Jews in the USSR, Holocaust: Research and Teaching, Zionism and the State of Israel, etc.
                  On behalf of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress EAJC General Council Chairman Joseph Zissels and EAJC Council of Rabbis Secretary General Rabbi Pinchas Goldschmidt delivered their welcoming addressed at the opening of the Conference.
                  Moreover, EAJC representatives gave a number of public lectures during the Conference. EAJC Secretary General Michael Chlenov delivered a report on the topic “Periods of Jewish Civilization”.
                  J. Zissels lectured on “International and Inter-Religious Dialogs within the Framework of Promoting Tolerance in EAJC Projects”, whereas r. P. Goldschmidt spoke about “New Tendencies in Orthodox Judaism”. EAJC Magazine “Jews of Euro-Asia” Editor-in-Chief Vyacheslav Likhachev reported about “Anti-Semitism as PR-Strategy (by the Example of Presidential Elections in Ukraine in 2004)”.
