                  Birthday of Russia's Chief Rabbi Adolf Shaevich.

                  EAJC Secretary General Mikhail Chlenov and EAJC Executive Director Fedor Ossinin took part in a grand celebration of the 65th anniversary of Russia's Chief Rabbi Adolf Shaevich which was held in Moscow Columned Hall of Unions House.
                  Speeches made by RF Minister V.Zorin and State Duma Committee Chairman V.Zorkaltsev stood out against other official greetings. RF Government Vice-Premier V.Matviyenko, Minister of Culture M.Shvydkoy, Moscow Mayor Y.Luzhkov, Patriarch of All Russia Alexiy II, Federation Council member L.Nevzlin and others sent their telegrams congratulating Rabbi, which were read out at the celebration.
                  Chief Mufti of the European part of Russia sheikh R.Gainutdin, Russia's Catholic eparchies' Council Chairman and Israel ambassador to Russia N.Meron, numerous public men from Russian and international Jewish community, as well as the host of the celebration, President of the Russian Jewish Congress (RJC) E.Satanovsky greeted Adolf Shaevich with warm words and presents. Congratulations were alternated with performances given by Russian pop-stars. The celebration ended up with a lavish banquet.
                  EAJC Executive Director Fedor Ossinin read out a special address signed by EAJC President Alexander Machkevich, presented Russia's Chief Rabbi Adolf Shaevich with a Diploma signed by EAJC Rabbis Council Chairman E.Kohen аnd a beautiful painting.
                  According to EAJC Secretary General Mikhail Chlenov, the celebration arranged by RJC (which is one of EAJC founders) showed, in particular, that EAJC is adherent to the spirit of interconfessional Dialogue. It also demonstrated that Supreme Leaders of Russia's Muslims and Christians are ready to recognize institutes of Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC) as an acceptable partner in this Dialogue.
